anyway, while away from the WWW, we bought a 6-month old house for um.. 94000? i traded the corolla in for a tacoma... my wife still has her civic.. i sold my hatch to my brother....i got a new tattoo on my back .... which is not done yet.. but currently, it reads" I CAN" ....but it's supposed to say "BECAUSE I CAN".... i'll finish it up in the next week or two..... and um..i discovered this really great band called

DEADSTAR ALLIANCE the new song in the background is called "breathe for me".. this is one of the few slower songs... the rest are cyber-punk/glam rock! it's kind of like a marilyn manson & kill hannah crossover mixed with the cranberries....

Monday, March 29, 2004

SOMEWHERE, HE'S COMING........

Friday, December 12, 2003

sorry, CHONG, i meant to mention you too..... i dunno what happened.. anyhow, chongamaniacs rock!!!

it's monday morning, and i'm back in the states! yay! i've been back since friday afternoon, but i'm still very tired, because i'm used to the time frame in Japan. they are 14 hours ahead of us (eastern time)..... so when it's morning over there, it's dark here, so i'm always tired.... but it's good to be home.... here's what i've written in my journal since the last xanga entry from Japan:

              November 9, 2003

Boring weekend.... Well, I'm half-way passed my length of stay in Japan. It's been a very long 2 weeks, especially the first week. Like I said earlier, on our very first monday in japan, the management team took us out to this fancy ass restaurant on the 22nd floor of a skyscraper. We had to sit on the floor Japanese style. There were grills on our tables. And on each grill, was a pot of water..... the dish is called shabu-shabu. Yep, we had to cook our own food. We started out with really, really thin slices of beef, like the ones you put in pho.... then it gradually increased in size, not thickness. It was kind of plain for me, because i dont eat beef much, and the soy sauce they had was really strong and really salty, so i just took my time, until they brought out the rice and dessert.....Yeah, and when i went to bathroom to take a piss, the whole wall behind me was a giant window (if i sat on the toilet, i'd be facing outside the window).... it had an awesome view..... makes me wonder if someone might be staring at me??? but that view was awesome!

Our workplace here in japan is approximately six square miles in area, and employs over 2200 people.... some people live as far away as 2 hours! well, it takes about an hour to drive across the city anyway.... Nagoya is slightly larger than New York City..... but very close in size....anyway, our workplace even has its own cafeteria and shopping center...however, i dont usually get filled, because they mostly serve seafood and a few other stuff here. If you don't already know, i'm not a very huge fan of seafood. Sometimes, they'll have spaghetti or meatloaf, but it's so cold, and the proportions are so fucken small! And the dinner at the dorm cafeteria? No option there..... all the times i've been here, i've only eaten in there once..... i'd usually go to Downey's (sandwich heaven), McDonald's, or Soda Pop Bar & Grill (Best American restaruant in Japan). But American food is not so cheap here. A Sandwich will run about $8 ... so will a burger... except McDonald's ... a Big Mac Value Meal is about $6. and $4 bucks for a cup of coke... $5 for a beer??? anyway, Soda Pop is kind of like a pub, with a free pool table.... they've even got couches in there if you just want to go in and chill and enjoy the music.... American Music......best part? over half of the workers speak English! so it makes ordering much easier. I've been to the Hard Rock Cafe here in Nagoya twice only because it's so fucken expensive! $20 for a burger! but it's delicious.... i bought a metal tee that says hard rock cafe nagoya from here... it rocks!

Let's see.... I've been to Kyoto, Nagoya's many underground malls..... this passed thursday, we went to a restaurant called yamachan...... which is most famous for its hot wings, called tebasaki...... we ate 305 pieces plus other meals, we set a new record! damn... $600 worth of wings! HHHHAAHH.....

That same night, some of the younger guys from work.... just regular workers like us..... well, they took us out bowling and also to a batting cage.... baseball is BIG in japan..... The best part about bowling? We all sucked, so we all got a kick out of it! Yeah, everyone was rolling on the floor... These guys are awesome and nice as can be..... what's funny is that in one of our lanes, the pins kept shooting out, so this one guy grabbed a pin and through it at the other pins, and got a STRIKE!....... Japan has the cleanest environment i've ever seen.. they recycle everything!!!!!!! it's had to find a trash can around here! Bicycles are quite popular too.... why? a gallon of gasoline is about $4.50..... so many people ride bikes to work and to school.... they save their cars for out of town travel or the rain.... Many others take public transportation... the Bus and the Subway..... I've been on the Subway countless time since i've been here.... i've never been on one before in my life..... the subway can get you anywhere in the city.....

Anyway, some of the guys here know enough English so that we can carry simple conversations. Oh, and about my tattoo in kanji reading "wild heart" ...... well, when translated directly, it means "AMBITIOUS"....... hmm.... that's no coincidence, is it? yeah, but i can't find a tattoo parlor around here! there's not many, because many places will not hire people who have visible tattoos.... One of the guys here wants a tattoo in English, but he cant make up his mind..... he's thinking between "courage" & "cool" , but i told him cool is so not cool for a tattoo...... i offered him a few other words as well....... anyway, he as this toyota minivan which can't be found in the states.....but he's got a GPS navigator and dvd player, and you can adjust the seats so they face the back of the vehicle......also, when the gear goes into reverse, there's a video camera that pops up on the GPS screen so you can see the back!

Oh, work? Ha.... it's been kind of slow at work because all i basically do is monitor this robot and keep track of some numbers.... it's tough because they're also training some new employees of their own... I've got 3 trainers who speak limited English.... but i really appreciate them for trying....

Cheap? Cell Phones are cheap as fuck! The Japanese are way ahead of the Americans in technology...... a $25 cell phone will have a camera, color, a 5- language translator (jap, english, french, spanish, german), and also its very own GPS navigator system! OH, the best part is the ring tones! it dont play cheap ring tones! it plays the actual song...... sounds just like the real thing! No cheap melodies! Oh, and i bought the VULGAR Cd by Dir En Grey.. it rocks... thanks true mee, for telling me about this awesome band...... "the language barrier doesn't exist in great music." Japanese people don't know of the term "gothic." Just only metal head and punk........?? Until then......

                  November 19, 2003

I'm sitting here at Soda Pop by myself, just enjoying a quiet night by myself for one last time in Japan. We just cambe back from Yamachan, eating 310 pieces of tebasaki, breaking our old record. I'm fucken stuffed. I haven't ordered anything here except for a cup of ice water. This bar/grill is really great. Awesome staff. Great music. Many foreigners come here. It's acrosst the street from Chukyo Universtity, biggest in all of Nagoya.... In fact, there are some foreigners in here right now, besides myself... I think they might be from England or somewhere from Europe. They've got an accent. Anyway, I've got 2 more days left. One working day. Tomorrow, after work, us and some of our Japanese co-workers are going to come here for one last time for a going away party. Japanese are really nice and respectful people. They always keep their word. Even the young ones..... They're not used to lies..... so lying is a big thing here in japan, unless if you're just joking of course..... I'll have many memories of this town, this really big town.. I'd like to come and visit here again some time in the future..... I'm glad I took the chance to come here... it was one hell of an experience... and thanks to my wife and RANI for the motivation......if i had the option to come again, you bet i would! Since I've been here, I've learned a few Japanese terms... the most useful ones are:

WAKARI MASEN --- I DONT UNDERSTAND

DOERYA CHINPU KHANPU DA WA -- I REALLY DONT KNOW!!!

that's just a few though.... One of the guys at work really makes my days go by faster. His name is Harada Kenji.... He gives me a kick when he tries so so fucken hard to speak English. He can say the simple things, but we give each other language lessons. This one day, we we around yelling "SUCK MY DICK" to all the japanese members, and no one knew what he was saying, but us americans were cracking up...... But don't worry, he'd already known that term before I showed up..... the word "SEX" is quite popular in japan...... if you ask a young person how they say "sex," their answer will be "sex."

another great guy is kobayashi takashi. I didn't get to know him very well. He has transferred toa different plant. But he may come by tomorrow. We share many of the same interests... and he likes the same bands i do, both English and Japanese. His favorite American bands are Slipknot, Korn, and Evanescence. oh, RANCID just played here in Nagoya, last week... but Rancid isn't big here... but Linkin Park is though.... every YOUNG japanese person i've talked to has heard of Linkin Park and like them...... Anyway, i've made a few great friends here: KENJI, TAKASHI, DAI, KAYU, KAORI, MAKI, TAKI, NAGAO, ITO, INO, HENDRI, & TOMO.......KENJI, MAKI, AND KAORI MAKE MY DAY, THEY TOTALLY ROCK! Hendri probably knows the best English. He's Indonesian, but he speaks perfect English and perfect Japanese. Well, he's also an Engineer. Oh, and there's this other guy at work that we call Mr. Giggles..... I can't remember his name though. He can barely speak English..... but he always giggles at everything we say.....good or bad... he has a habit of giggling. He may come tomorrow too.

As for the American members who I've been here with, well, there's 2 white guys, Mike (48) & Marlon (40) and a black guy, Nate (40)...... yeah, they're much older than me...... Marlon is Ok, but sometimes he gets cranky for no reason and complains about everything.... which is ok because i do too.... i dont mind working with him because we can talk shit about people and agree.... i'm so evil! ......Mike?? he's a walking bag of shit waiting to tell MANY UNBELIEVABLE STORIES! He talks shit about everyone and takes everything the wrong way. He's so fucken conceited for a fat bald-headed man. He takes things to wrong way to his advantage making him think that he is all this and that. He doesn't take things the wrong way as in he gets pissed...... he takes things the ways to make it seem like he's the fuckin shit! He thinks everyone likes him! It's funny how he thinks the Japanese women like him. He's a big fat bald guy and he always brags about how Japanese women praise sumo wrestlers. But the the way he talks, walks, and looks......give Japanese members something to talk about.... they always make fun of him in front of me and Nate. They always mock his walk..... Then one of them asked me if his belt holds his stomach up, what will happen if he takes his belt off? I started rollin on the ground! I honestly can't work with someone like him... annoying and filled of shit! The rest of us a agree that we don't want to work with him! As for Nate, he's supposed to be our Team Leader (T.L.), but he's such a fucken hard-head! He came by my work area one day and saw the "emergency stop" button... and asked me... " i wonder what this button does" and he pressed it!!!!! THEN EVERY FUCKEN THING WENT OFF AND SHUT DOWN! At first, no one could figure out why, but i kept touching the e-stop button, then one of the jap. members looked at me and said something in Japanese... i figured is was something like "what happened?!" so i said "i dont know." then i told her about the e-stop in English, and she kind of figured out what i was trying to say. After about 20 minutes, we finally got the damn thing working again. Oh yeah, when i told her about the e-stop, she asked if it was me...... i was going to say that it was nate, but decided not to...... some of the jap. members may have thought that it was me, but others concluded that probably one of us US members might have leaned on it on accident..... see.. when this happened, all the US members were there. i was like.... "oh well..." But the thing is that this is not the first time Nate has done something so fucken stupid! 2 weeks earlier, he came to the same machine, and saw a safety door, and said, " i wonder what's in here." and he opened it! me and another american member looked at each other, and were like "what the fuck is he doing?!" ......luckily, it didn't trip out any sensors.... STUPID DUMBASS!

Ok.. looks like i'm going to order something, because i've just been informed that there's a 500 yen entrance fee for anyone who doesn't order anything..........gotta go pee ... later...

                       Conclusion.....

yeah, i ordered a coke that night.....i was there for about 4 hours??? yeah, i'll miss these guys....... i hope to go back one day....... i'm glad i took the chance and went.... the first 2 weeks went by slow, because i didn't really know anyone... but after that... i made really good friends, from work and from the restaurants........later! my hand hurts...

Saturday, November 08, 2003

sorry, but i dont have time to reply to everyone so just keep readin this for now.....by the way i found something in japan that is really cheap.... it:s raw seafood......later
